Job summary

Atwell, LLC in the United States is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer for the Oil & Gas group to support North American projects with a focus on power system studies and electrical design.

You will work with clients, utilities, vendors, and project teams to deliver electrical deliverables from preliminary design through construction packages, while applying NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and utility standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred.
  • Experience: 2–6 years of relevant electrical engineering, utility engineering, industrial power systems, consulting engineering, or oil & gas experience.
  • Licensure: FE/EIT is preferred; progress toward PE licensure is strongly preferred.
  • Experience performing power system studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, PowerFactory, Milsoft, or similar software.
  • Exposure to PSS/E, similar transmission planning and power system analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage power systems; distribution, transmission, substation, or industrial power systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering and design activities for industrial, utility, and oil & gas facilities, including power distribution systems.
  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies using ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar software.
  • Develop and maintain power system models and prepare technical reports for clients and project teams.
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to support project execution.
  • Produce electrical deliverables such as one-line and three-line diagrams, control schematics, and construction packages.
