Job summary

Powerus is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for its unmanned platforms. The role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with periodic travel to Charlotte, NC, and California for bring-up and reviews.

You will own electrical design from architecture to released documentation, collaborating with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in wiring, schematics, and power systems, with strong documentation skills to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience owning electrical designs from architecture through released documentation.
• Strong written communication and ability to work with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical architecture for power, avionics, sensing, and interfaces.
• Capture schematics and manage designs through reviews and releases.
• Perform design analysis: worst-case, derating, thermal, power budget, margins.
• Select components considering requirements, lifecycle, availability, NDAA/Blue UAS constraints.
• Produce complete design packages: drawings, interface definitions, BOMs, build docs.
• Define wiring, harnessing, connectors, and grounding schemes for vehicle integration.
• Write test and acceptance procedures for owned designs.
• Support bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting during travel.
• Collaborate with fabrication/vendors on DFM and process questions.
• Document designs and review asynchronously with distributed engineers.
