Caterpillar Inc. in the United States seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering professional to lead retrofit and control projects for generator paralleled systems.

You will design, program, test, and commission automation solutions in a collaborative environment across dealers, factories, and end users. Remote work with significant travel (35–50%) is expected, with a compensation package that reflects the role’s technical depth and market value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLC-based controls, HMIs, and DCS is preferred.
• Knowledge of power systems and ability to read schematics.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities; define project scope with Dealer/Factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLCs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications.
• Produce wiring/assembly drawings with CAD designers.
• Perform risk assessments; support field performance.
• Submit project docs and expenses promptly.
• Train technicians and customers on maintenance and operation.
