Job summary

Bowman is hiring a Siting, Routing & Permitting Lead to work remotely in the United States. You will lead routing studies, manage permitting/licensing, and coordinate with agencies and clients on energy infrastructure projects.

The role requires 8+ years in electric transmission/generation siting, strong leadership, and experience with CPCN or siting certificates. Travel may be required; remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Natural Resources, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field required.
• Eight or more (8 +) years of experience in electric transmission and/or generation siting, routing, permitting, licensing, and utility applications required.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and working in a client-facing capacity.
• Strong understanding of state and federal permitting processes and regulatory frameworks affecting energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing CPCN applications or equivalent state siting certificates preferred.
• Experience providing expert witness testimony before utility commissions or siting boards preferred.
• Proficiency with GIS and spatial analysis tools preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel domestically as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead routing and siting studies, including alternatives analysis and corridor evaluation.
• Manage permitting and licensing efforts, including permit strategy development and package preparation.
• Support utility applications such as CPCNs and siting approvals.
• Coordinate agency consultations, stakeholder meetings, and public hearings.
• Review technical studies and environmental documentation for quality and compliance.
• Provide regulatory expertise for permitting requirements on energy projects.
• Monitor project status and inform clients and stakeholders as needed.
