Job summary

CollegeSpring seeks a Contract Proofreader to support the ACT-aligned curriculum. Review and proofread ELA materials to ensure clarity, grammar, and ACT alignment. Remote, part-time hours (~5-10/week), contract through Feb 2027 with potential extension.

Requirements include strong editorial skills, familiarity with ACT content, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines while following a detailed Proofreader Guide.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with a strong editorial eye.
• Able to track multiple content issues (grammar, formatting, accuracy, alignment).
• Familiar with test design and secondary-level instructional content (ELA focus).
• Tech-savvy with Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Monday.com.
• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines on short timelines.
• Experience with the ACT.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a project kick-off call, weekly check-ins, and other team meetings to set goals and review progress.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of Digital Curriculum regarding deadlines and feedback.
• Proofread Google Slides to ensure grammar, ACT alignment, and pedagogical flow.
• Proofread content in Google Docs using a structured template.
• Flag inconsistencies between slides, objectives, notes, and ACT alignment.
