Job summary

OpenTrain is hiring elementary English Language Arts annotators for a 3-6 month, fully remote U.S.-based contract. Roles include Expert Annotators and Standard Annotators who evaluate AI-generated passages against elementary ELA objectives and provide curriculum-focused feedback.

We require 5+ years of ELA teaching experience and comfort with rubric-based scoring. This part-time contractor role offers flexible scheduling with a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching elementary ELA in U.S. classrooms.
• Familiarity with rubric-based scoring or annotation tools.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and rate AI-generated passages and lesson content against ELA objectives.
• Provide constructive, curriculum-focused feedback and flag ambiguous outputs.
• Audit labeled output and refine annotation guides (Expert Annotator).
• Apply protocols to expand labeled examples and support validation (Standard Annotator).
