Job summary

Academia.edu is seeking an editorial professional to oversee the peer-review process for manuscripts, ensuring timely and high-quality reviews. You will screen reviewers beyond the platform and guide manuscripts through decisions and revisions.

Collaborating with authors and the Publishing Managers, you will ensure compliance with internal guidelines and industry standards, coordinating publication readiness and meeting short deadlines.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a natural or technical science.
• 2+ years managing day-to-day peer-review in scientific journals or related publishing roles.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with HTML, PDF, LaTeX and XML formats; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the peer-review process to ensure timely, high-quality reviews.
• Screen reviewer lists and seek qualified candidates beyond the platform.
• Guide manuscripts through editorial decisions and revisions.
• Collaborate with authors to collect information and ensure revisions meet reviewer/editor needs.
• Coordinate with Publishing Managers to prevent delays and safeguard reputation.
