Job summary

Semafor is seeking an Editorial Event Producer to craft and manage our flagship global economic event. You will recruit senior executives, shape programming, and coordinate with editorial teams across disciplines.

You will lead outreach, build relationships, and deliver insightful notes for moderators, while translating macroeconomic trends into compelling on-stage moments. This role is remote with preferred candidates in DC or New York and requires strong editorial judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years in broadcast journalism or related fields.
• Experience managing complex editorial programs across many speakers.
• Excellent interpersonal and executive-facing communication.
• Ability to translate business and economic trends into on-stage moments.

Responsibilities

• Own outreach and booking for senior executives and high-profile guests.
• Identify contacts across executive offices and communications teams.
• Maintain outreach pipelines and follow-ups to secure commitments.
• Act as ambassador for Semafor, articulating the editorial mission and value proposition.
• Lead pre-event editorial calls to discuss programming and notes for moderators.
• Develop understanding of each executive, their company, and expertise for program contributions.
• Assess relevance of guests and make programming recommendations.
