Job summary

Semafor seeks an experienced Contract Audience Developer to support audience development and event execution for Semafor World Economy, our flagship global convening in Washington, D.C. The role takes end-to-end responsibility for audience strategy, list building, invitations, registration, and on-site readiness.

The ideal candidate will combine strong audience judgment with hands-on operational capabilities to ensure the right attendees, target participation, and a seamless attendee experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in audience development, event marketing, or attendee acquisition for high-profile events.
• Ability to manage audience development from planning through execution.
• Strong judgment in curating senior executive and business audiences.
• Excellent copywriting for invitations and attendee communications.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, event registration platforms and CMS tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop audience acquisition plans for Semafor World Economy events.
• Build invitation lists and curate audience criteria by criteria like seniority and industry.
• Draft invitation copy and registration messaging for events.
• Coordinate with design for invitations and assets; manage distribution and follow-ups.
• Track RSVP and attendee communications; ensure on-site readiness and data accuracy.
• Maintain registration data and handle changes, waitlists, and issues.
