Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a remote, full-time Licensed ED Medical Coder to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for Emergency Department and outpatient services, collaborating with clinical staff to ensure coding quality and compliance.

You will review documentation, apply ED E/M leveling and charging rules, and perform peer reviews to support coding quality initiatives with a goal of 98% accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience coding ED encounters in a hospital or health system.
• Strong knowledge of ED E/M leveling methodologies and injection/infusion charging requirements.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Ability to communicate with providers for documentation clarification and coding queries.
• Certification as CCS or CPC is required.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for Emergency Department and outpatient services.
• Apply E/M leveling guidelines and injection/infusion charging rules to ensure compliant coding practices.
• Perform peer reviews and support coding quality initiatives to maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 98%.
