Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions LLC seeks Dzongkha-English interpreters for on-demand remote work from home. Interpreters render spoken meaning across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, and more with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

As an independent contractor, you will receive training, support from a Senior Language Specialist, and advancement opportunities while working from a quiet, secure space and following client protocols.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Dzongkha and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences to communicate with the LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bilingual read/write ability highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions at all times.
• Remain calm during sessions in emergencies or high-stress calls (e.g., 911).
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and client permissions when interacting with LEP.
• Understand protocol and terminology across industries including Medical, Insurance, Finance, Law.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Some calls may be highly emotional or lengthy; adapt to dynamic workloads.
