Texas Connections Academy @ Houston is seeking a Dyslexia Teacher to deliver virtual instruction from a Texas home. You will support students with dyslexia in collaboration with reading/language arts teachers and learning coaches to help each child meet goals.

The role requires a Texas teaching credential with Dyslexia certification or related disorders, online teaching experience, strong tech skills, and excellent communication. Occasional travel for events may be required.

Formación

• Degree in Education with certification in Dyslexia and related disorders, Reading specialization, and/or Language Arts/English certification
• Valid credential in Texas; ACP candidates seeking an internship are not eligible
• Complete a professional development course for online teaching meeting TxVSN requirements
• Experience with Texas Dyslexia Handbook policies and guidelines
• Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Customer focused approach
• High degree of flexibility
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast paced environment
• Team player track record
• Willingness to travel occasionally for events (may require overnight travel)

Responsabilidades

• Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching and general strategies for a caseload of students
• Develop, write and ensure the implementation of Dyslexia programs and coordinate with the 504 Coordinator and/or Special Education teachers
• Evaluate tests and assessments, complete progress reports and conduct parent conferences
• Communicate regularly with parents/learning coaches of students with Dyslexia to ensure goals are met
• Consult with teachers to coordinate Dyslexia instruction for identified students
• Provide direct services to students via web-conferencing as needed
• Participate in the school’s Student Support Team and help develop program modifications
• Assist with paperwork and documentation for the Dyslexia process
• Maintain accurate data in the Learning Management System and other platforms
• Assist with state testing and coordinate required adaptations
• Other duties as assigned
