Pacific Specialty Insurance Company seeks a Senior Developer - Duck Creek Billing Lead to design, develop, and lead the Duck Creek Billing solutions in a Remote USA role. The candidate will manage architecture, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring system uptime and performance.

The ideal candidate brings 12–14 years in application development with Duck Creek Billing, strong P&C domain knowledge, and proven SME capabilities.

Qualifications

12 to 14 years hands-on experience in application software development with a strong focus on Duck Creek Billing.

Extensive experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain with Billing Architect and Technical Lead roles.

Deep expertise in Personal Lines Insurance (Homeowners, Casualty, Motorcycle).

Strong experience designing, configuring, customizing, and supporting Duck Creek Billing solutions (Author, Express, Server).

Advanced proficiency in ManuScript development, configuration management, and version control best practices.

Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server: development, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex stored procedures, triggers, queries, and XQuery implementations.

Ability to provide architectural leadership and design improvement recommendations for scalability and performance.

Experience establishing development standards, code reviews, and enforcing best practices.

Proven SME with mentoring/junior developers on Duck Creek best practices and coding standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead development teams while contributing hands-on coding.

Strong understanding of P&C billing operations: billing, installments, PCN processing, commissions, disbursements, payments.

Experience with Agile environments: translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Duck Creek Billing Certification is mandatory.

Experience with large-scale Duck Creek Billing implementations, upgrades, and production support is preferred.

API framework experience as required.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Applications or related field; 10+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate business applications/programs.
Translate detailed technical design specs into program instructions; debug and document.
Plan and coordinate critical systems and monitoring; analyze and recommend corrective actions.
Evaluate system performance; investigate tech improvements and coordinate implementations.
Ensure architectural integrity across products and services.
Conceive and present architectural approaches for software applications.
Manage Sprint backlogs and ensure dashboards reflect metrics.
Coordinate end-user support and knowledge transfer.
Provide detailed documentation in work repositories; guide delivery/test/business teams.
Manage user and systems administration; monitor system performance and usage.
Manage the system change process; provide accurate effort estimates.
