Job summary

Fearless Solutions is seeking a Drupal Technical Lead (Senior Consultant) to drive the architecture and implementation of a Drupal 11 platform for a government website modernization. You will define content models, workflows, and integrations while aligning business objectives with engineering standards.

The role is fully remote in the United States, with responsibility across security, performance, and accessibility.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of total relevant professional experience.
At least 3 years of experience leading enterprise-wide website modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience supporting at least one government, higher education, or similarly regulated organization project.
Experience implementing at least one Drupal solution hosted on AWS.
Demonstrated experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise Drupal solutions.
Hands-on experience with Drupal 11 architecture and configuration, including PHP development and PostgreSQL databases.
Proficiency in designing Drupal content models, taxonomy, metadata structures, roles and permissions, and publishing workflows for complex content environments.
Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into solution architecture, technical designs, and implementation approaches.
Deep knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations within Drupal platforms.
Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for enterprise Drupal or web applications.
Background in architecting and supporting containerized Drupal deployments within cloud environments.
Demonstrated ability to establish technical standards, architectural patterns, and development practices for engineering teams.
Proven track record evaluating Drupal configuration, contributed modules, integrations, and custom development needs to create maintainable, reusable solutions.
Experience providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across engineering, DevOps, migration, UX, accessibility, content, and QA disciplines.
Experience leading technical and architecture reviews with customers, enterprise IT teams, or other technical stakeholders.
Background developing technical architecture and operational documentation and supporting technical knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical architecture and implementation of the modernized Drupal 11 platform.
Translate requirements into Drupal solution architecture and technical designs for accessibility and multilingual content.
Define technical decisions for AWS hosting, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, security, monitoring, and deployment strategies.
Establish development standards and architectural patterns and guide the Drupal team.
Design Drupal content models, taxonomy, metadata structures, roles and permissions, and publishing workflows.
Design and implement REST APIs and third-party integrations for API-first architectures.
Coordinate technical reviews and architecture approvals with government IT teams and stakeholders.
Produce architecture documentation and operational guides for knowledge transfer.
