Job summary

24-MAG LLC is seeking seasoned Senior DoD Staff Writing SMEs to contribute to an advanced AI training and staff-writing evaluation project. You will develop realistic DoD writing tasks, reference materials, and model responses; evaluate AI-generated staff writing; and establish clear assessment standards for accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in DoD or federal environments, experience with WARs, SITREPs, and executive summaries, and familiarity with DoD terminology.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience supporting the U.S. DoD or comparable federal environments.
• Experience producing WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, or similar reports.
• Background in military or federal staff-writing is highly valuable.
• Strong understanding of DoD terminology, procedures, and reporting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop authentic DoD staff-writing materials across operational and administrative scenarios.
• Produce WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports.
• Apply DoD terminology, structure, tone, and reporting conventions.
• Create materials reflecting federal communication requirements.
• Maintain high standards for clarity, accuracy, and audience suitability.
• Develop prompts and artifacts for staff-writing evaluation tasks.
• Create golden responses demonstrating expected output standards.
• Design scenarios for summarisation, reporting, and administrative communication.
• Ensure tasks reflect real work performed by federal/military personnel.
• Collaborate remotely with project leads and reviewers.
