Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Engineer for a remote role serving the Greater Kansas City area. The position supports utility projects and requires residence within commuting distance to KC for local support.

The role involves preparing distribution construction packages, assisting with lines design (2.4kV–34kV), generating drawings, and supporting proposals and schedules. Travel and fieldwork may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; ABET-accredited preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of electric utility distribution systems and standards.
• Strong written and oral communication; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground projects.
• Assist with 2.4kV–34kV distribution line design.
• Develop drawings and as-built documents with Designers/Engineers.
• Prepare project cost estimates and execution schedules.
• Support clients and contribute to business development.
