Job summary

Heard & Smith, LLP is seeking a licensed junior associate attorney to join our disability claims team. The role involves client representation in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges and travel to hearings in various cities and states.

The position is remote with a home office setup and requires engagement in client questions, case review, and legal research. Entry-level attorneys or attorneys new to Social Security Disability practice are welcome, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney in good standing.
• Experience in Social Security Disability law preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to hearings nationwide up to 70%.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients at hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges.
• Split time between two major assignments including client interactions and case preparation.
• Review and develop pre-hearing and hearing level cases; conduct legal research and draft briefs.
• Prepare briefs for hearing and draft appeals council briefs.
• Manage client communications via phone, mail, and email.
