Job summary

Equitable Growth, a Washington Center for Equitable Growth initiative, seeks a Director of Strategic Philanthropy to lead its renewed development efforts, focusing on foundation partnerships and major donor opportunities to secure long-term funding. The role reports to the President/CEO and guides strategic philanthropy with high-level fundraising insight.

The position emphasizes building relationships with funders, overseeing grants and reports, and aligning donor strategies with program goals

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising and development within nonprofit or mission-driven environments, with primary experience in foundations.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements a multi-year institutional fundraising strategy with a focus on foundation support and major gifts.
Builds and steward relationships with philanthropic partners, institutional funders, and major donors.
Leads development activities and collaborates with staff and external consultants to meet revenue goals and long-term development objectives.
Advises the President/CEO and senior leadership on fundraising progress, trends, and strategy alignment across divisions.
