Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director of Security Engineering in the United States to lead enterprise security engineering and operations within a fast-growing tech environment.

You will drive modern security practices, strengthen cloud protection, and build resilient systems that safeguard data and infrastructure, collaborating across engineering, IT, and product teams to embed security into development workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure security or security operations.
• 3+ years leading security engineering teams.
• Experience with incident response programs and external security partners.
• Strong cloud security architecture experience (GCP preferable).
• Hands-on in micro-segmentation and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust frameworks and risk-based vulnerability management.
• Ability to communicate security concepts to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing security engineering team.
• Own engineering and operations security strategies protecting systems and data.
• Drive Zero Trust and identity controls.
• Oversee security operations programs including MDR/SOC, SIEM, EDR/XDR.
• Design segmentation, workload identity, and secure-by-design controls.
• Develop security playbooks, threat response procedures, and documentation.
• Establish vulnerability management with prioritization frameworks.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Collaborate with IT, governance, risk, compliance, and product teams.
• Evaluate AI-enabled security and automation opportunities.
• Provide executive security reporting and maturity assessments.
• Manage external security vendors and partnerships.
