Job summary

Ledgebrook Insurance, LLC. is seeking a Director of Underwriting to lead enterprise underwriting appetite across the program portfolio, supervise Underwriting Manager(s), and partner with Business Development on new programs.

You will set guidelines, oversee delegated authority/MGA oversight, and serve as senior underwriting authority in due diligence and BAA negotiations, with a remote, national team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of P&C underwriting experience, including supervising underwriters in a delegated-authority/MGA-oversight environment.
• Track record setting underwriting guidelines and appetite for a book of business.
• Experience negotiating binding authority terms with program partners.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain underwriting appetite, standards, and guidelines across all programs in coordination with executive health and actuarial functions.
• Supervise and develop Underwriting Manager(s); review audits and escalate findings as needed.
• Own underwriting due diligence for new programs and advise on go/no-go decisions with Business Development.
• Serve as senior underwriting authority in BAA negotiations—define binding authority, referral thresholds, and guideline provisions.
• Track audit findings and remediation across the book; report portfolio-level underwriting quality trends to the CPO.
• Coordinate with Actuarial and Claims on loss experience and guideline changes.
