Envestnet is seeking a Director, Software Development Engineering to lead teams building scalable technology foundations for high-quality product delivery. You will guide engineering leaders across cloud platforms, shared services, and AI-enabled workflows.

You'll shape architecture, drive data governance, and manage budgets while aligning with business objectives and regulatory needs. This remote role offers a strong impact on Tamarac's trading and portfolio management platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and leadership experience.
• Experience driving agentic coding practices or AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Defines engineering strategy and execution model for a major domain.
• Translates business objectives into multi-quarter engineering plans.
• Establishes domain-level architecture direction with senior technical leaders.
• Drives regulatory compliance and data governance within the domain.
• Manages budget, headcount planning, and organizational design for the function.
• Implements performance frameworks using KPIs (availability, latency, cost efficiency, quality trends).
• Influences prioritization across engineering, product, and stakeholders.
• Leads organizational transformation initiatives (platform modernization, cloud migration, platform consolidation).
• Builds leadership bench strength through structured succession planning.
• Drives adoption of agentic coding practices to increase productivity and reduce time-to-delivery.
