Job summary

High Bar Brands is seeking a hands‑on Director of Product Engineering to lead the engineering function across all brands and drive new product development from concept to launch. You will partner with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing to shape roadmaps and ensure timely, cost‑effective production readiness.

You will manage multi‑brand programs, mentor engineers, and oversee design for manufacturing while advancing IP initiatives and continuous improvement across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of product engineering experience, with 5+ years leading engineers or teams.
• Experience in automotive/heavy‑duty truck and trailer components or industrial vehicles.
• Track record of taking new products from concept to launch with measurable results.
• Hands‑on applications engineering experience with customers.
• Strong project management skills: multi‑project delivery, timelines, budgets.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, GD&T, DFM/DFA, and ECO processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Development from concept to production launch.
• Establish and manage a disciplined stage‑gate development process.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing on roadmaps.
• Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and opportunities.
• Oversee IP activities, patents, and engineering partnerships.
• Champion value engineering for cost and performance improvements.
• Build and lead cross‑functional teams across locations.
