Job summary

CME Corp. is seeking a Director of Product Data to lead the strategy, governance, and operational execution of the enterprise product data ecosystem.

Reporting directly to the CIO, this role is ideal for an innovative leader who transforms product data at scale. The Director will manage a team of data administrators and collaborate with IT/Engineering, Operations, Sales, Vendor Relations, and internal product teams to ensure data accuracy, governance, and usability across the business.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in product data management, MDM, or data governance.
• Experience managing large-scale product catalogs within a distribution organization.
• Proven leadership in hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Deep experience with data assessment, cleansing, normalization, and large-scale mapping.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, taxonomy design, data quality frameworks, and system integration.
• Experience delivering executive-level reporting and presenting insights to senior leadership.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally across IT, operations, sales, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own CME’s product data strategy, taxonomy, and governance framework.
• Establish standards for product attributes, hierarchies, naming conventions, and metadata.
• Implement data governance policies, stewardship models, and quality controls.
• Drive an entrepreneurial mindset across the data team for scalable approaches.
• Assess and audit product data across systems to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
• Lead data cleansing, normalization, and mapping across a 1M+ item catalog.
• Build dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to monitor data health and timeliness.
• Partner with stakeholders to support sales, analytics, and decision-making.
• Lead integration of third-party data sources and ensure alignment with internal catalogs.
• Mentor and develop a high-performance product data team.
