Job summary

Ladders seeks a Director of Public Relations and External Affairs to shape external communications in the Finance & Insurance sector. The role partners with senior leadership, Brand, and Government Affairs to align messaging, protect reputation, and support business priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in communications, PR, journalism, marketing or related field.
• 6+ years in public relations, external communications, or media relations.
• Experience developing PR strategies and managing media relationships.
• Able to partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Government affairs or nonprofit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of PR strategy and calendar with leadership and external partners.
• Cultivate and maintain media relationships with journalists and outlets.
• Oversee press release development and distribution of external communications.
• Identify media opportunities and craft messaging to enhance reputation.
• Manage crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging during sensitive situations.
• Collaborate with Brand and Government Affairs to align communications with priorities.
• Evaluate PR initiatives and recommend improvements based on metrics.
