Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Director of Natural Gas Engineering Services for a REMOTE WORK role within our Utility Services team. The Director will oversee national gas programs, manage revenue and safety, and drive growth with cross-functional leadership.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in natural gas program management (or 5+ years in leadership), a PE license preferred, and strong analytical, communication, and consulting skills to guide client engagements and policy updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years in natural gas program management or gas utility design with 5+ years in leadership.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with data analysis, financial reporting, data inventory management, and program auditing (Excel).
• Ability to negotiate and develop relationships with contracting parties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee national teams supporting client natural gas programs and projects.
• Own safety, operational performance, revenue, and financial performance of the Natural Gas Department.
• Establish annual operating plans and growth targets aligned with corporate objectives.
• Expand client relationships and cross-sell engineering, consulting, and operations services.
• Develop and implement national sales strategies through marketing materials, presentations, and conferences.
• Contract management for operational control of natural gas programs, monitoring revenues and expenses.
• Coordinate meetings with internal staff and contracting partners to ensure proper use of agreements.
• Deliver presentations to senior leadership and clients with data-backed briefs.
