Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a dynamic Fundraising Communications and Enablement Director. This fully remote role can be located anywhere in the USA. You will lead strategic fundraising messaging, develop high-quality materials, and align communications with growth objectives to drive donor engagement and impact.

You will manage a team, collaborate with executives, and ensure campaigns reflect the organization’s mission. Strong storytelling and project leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, presentation, and training skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to develop project plans and budgets aligned to org objectives.
• Experience in fundraising communications or nonprofit campaigns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop comprehensive communications plans for fundraising initiatives.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of communications professionals.
• Partner with senior executives to ensure consistent messaging across initiatives.
• Utilize storytelling strategies to support and enhance fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with national and regional marketing teams to develop and execute fundraising communications campaigns.
• Manage complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Create and oversee communications content, including talking points, press releases, social posts, newsletters, FAQs, product information sheets, and other materials.
• Serve as the lead for external communications and public relations activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with American Red Cross communications standards and issues management protocols.
• Develop and manage content for RedCross.org, The Exchange, and Red Cross social platforms.
• Support organizational visibility and fundraising success through strategic communications.
