The Community Preservation Corporation is seeking a Director of Construction Risk Management to oversee construction lending activities for affordable housing projects, primarily in upstate New York. The role provides expert guidance on compliance, procedures, and risk mitigation across projects and portfolios.

The Director will manage third‑party inspectors, review loan documentation, and communicate with borrowers and architects to address risks impacting budget and completion timelines.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in building materials and design, construction processes and documentation.
• Preferred professional background or accredited degree in engineering, architecture or construction management.
• Minimum 5 years in a construction lending environment with risk management responsibility.

Responsabilités

• Oversee third-party inspecting engineers and architects: select consultants, set requirements and ensure CPC compliance.
• Review construction information at loan commitment, during construction and at loan conversion per CPC Credit Policy.
• Communicate with borrowers, contractors and architects to identify and mitigate risks affecting budget or schedule.
• Prepare Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Analysis Reports with narrative on site, team qualifications, budget, schedule, environmental/seismic issues, and change orders.
• Review monthly construction status reports and construction documentation.
• Review Property Condition Assessment reports to advise on condition and ongoing costs for loan funding.
• Provide training seminars to internal and external clients on construction risk guidelines.
• Perform administrative duties related to construction portfolio management and documentation.
