Job summary

The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) is seeking a Director of Construction Risk Management to guide CPC’s affordable housing construction lending in New York. You will assess risks, guide compliance, and work with lenders, engineers, and borrowers to mitigate exposures.

The role oversees third-party consultants, reviews loan milestones, and communicates issues affecting budgets and schedules. The position is hybrid, based in Manhattan, with a salary range of $155,000–$170,000 and

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in building materials, design, construction processes and scheduling for agency and non-agency projects.
• Degree in engineering, architecture or construction management preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in construction lending and risk management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party inspecting engineers and architects: select consultants, set requirements, ensure quality and CPC compliance.
• Review construction information at loan milestones per CPC Credit Policy.
• Communicate with borrowers, contractors and architects to identify risks and mitigate impact on budget and schedule.
• Prepare Pre-Construction and Post-Construction Analysis Reports with narrative summaries and change orders.
• Review monthly status reports and Property Condition Assessments for loan funding considerations.
• Provide training seminars on construction risk guidelines to clients and internal teams.
• Perform admin tasks related to construction portfolio management.
