Job summary

Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP is seeking a Director for Business Process Outsourcing to lead day-to-day financial operations across client engagements from a remote base. The role oversees GL, payables, receivables, payroll, and reporting, while guiding both onshore and offshore staff to ensure accurate monthly and annual closings.

Qualifications

• Not-for-profit experience preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
• Experience across multiple industries—professional services, manufacturing, construction, and healthcare—valued
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, closure, reporting)
• Knowledge and experience of GAAP
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
• Experience with multiple accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct)
• Expert in Excel
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day financial operations for clients: GL, payables, receivables, payroll, collections, and reporting
• Monitor team usage of internal procedures, processes, and controls
• Manage onshore and offshore staff performing transactional and accounting activities and reporting
• Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with guidelines
• Manage communications with vendors, customers, partners, banks and other parties
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/annual closing
• Assist in budgets and forecasts
• Review accounting information for inaccuracies or imbalances
• Convert customers to new accounting systems and perform cleanup on books
• Advise on technical accounting decisions
• Develop models and analyses for client requests
• Drive continuous improvement of internal operations with stakeholder input
