Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to lead the Automation & Controls team. You will collaborate with engineering to foster continuous innovation, influence capital planning, and align cross-functional efforts with manufacturing optimization while providing ongoing production support.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing, a engineering degree, and proven leadership in multi-site Automation projects. Remote-friendly, with responsibilities across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostics tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3- and 5-year capital plans for facilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, R&D and others to integrate Automation and Controls.
• Manage financial responsibilities: capital projects; budget; reporting.
• Lead software identification and deployment with operations systems teams.
• Maintain documentation and drive continuous improvements in controls.
