Job summary

Bob's Discount Furniture seeks a Director of Merchandise Finance to own inventory investment governance and open-to-buy strategies. This remote leadership role partners with Merchandising, Planning, Pricing, and IT to align on financial guardrails and forecast accuracy while delivering executive-level insights into ROI and risk.

The position requires 8+ years in FP&A/merchandise finance, 3+ years of people management, and strong SQL/BI skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive FP&A or merchandise finance experience in retail.
• 3+ years of people-management experience.
• Proven ownership of inventory investment governance and open-to-buy.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects across Merchandising, Planning, Pricing, and Supply Chain.
• MBA or CPA preferred; 10+ years total experience in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead inventory investment governance and open-to-buy processes.
• Set financial guardrails and reconcile to plans and forecasts.
• Provide executive-level insights on inventory productivity and risk.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Planning, Pricing, Supply Chain and IT.
• Develop and mentor the merchandise finance team.
