Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in media relations or corporate communications.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field; equivalent experience.
• Established relationships with journalists covering science, healthcare, technology, or business.
• Experience counseling senior executives on media strategy, positioning, and crisis response.
• Strong news judgment and writing skills for complex topics.
• Experience managing external PR agencies and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead media strategy and support global media activities aligned with Elsevier's priorities.
• Collaborate with segment teams on messaging, bylined articles, pitches for media use.
• Coordinate with agencies and business partners in key markets to meet media goals and advise stakeholders.
• Support global media activities including handling media inquiries, planning, tracking, and measurement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology, regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
• Travel up to 10% for off-site meetings or office visits as needed.
