Based fully remote in the US with preferred locations in New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania, the role requires 7+ years in media relations and a track record counseling executives on strategy and crisis response.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in media relations or corporate communications.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Established relationships with journalists covering science, healthcare, technology, or business.
• Demonstrated experience counseling senior executives on media strategy, positioning, and issue/crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Lead media strategy and support global media activities connected to Elsevier priorities.
• Collaborate with segment teams on messaging, bylined articles, pitches and other content for use with media.
• Provide counsel to the business segments and markets; work with agencies and partners to meet media goals.
• Manage key global media activities such as handling inquiries, strategic planning, tracking and measurement.
