Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Transportation for First and Middle Mile to lead US transportation operations across manufacturing sites, cross docks, and replenishment centers. This role oversees a ~$200M budget and drives cost efficiency, service excellence, and on-time delivery.

You will manage a team of ~20 professionals, collaborate with multiple internal teams, and guide procurement, routing, and network optimization initiatives for a nationwide distribution network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 12+ years in transportation/logistics; 5+ years in leadership over multi-site ops preferred.
• Proven track record managing large transportation budgets and delivering cost savings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all U.S. first and middle mile transportation operations across sites.
• Lead and mentor a team of ~20 transportation professionals.
• Own and manage a transportation budget of ~ $200M, driving cost efficiency and on-time performance.
• Drive network optimization initiatives focused on routing efficiency and cost-to-serve reduction.
• Oversee carrier procurement, sourcing, negotiations, and vendor management.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize network flow and strategy.
