Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Director, Benefits Planning and Strategy to guide governance, design, and scalable execution of Directed Spend benefit programs. Translate CMS guidance into strategic governance and operational guardrails for enterprise-wide benefit management.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, Operations, and controls teams to align client needs with capabilities while leveraging AI-driven improvements and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, benefits administration, or healthcare strategy.
• Experience translating CMS guidance into governance and operational execution.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment on complex decisions.
• Comfort with using AI tools to boost productivity and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on Directed Spend benefit administration, CMS guidance, and regulatory requirements.
• Translate CMS regulations and policy changes into actionable governance and guardrails.
• Own enterprise governance for Approved Product (APL) strategy, admin, and execution.
• Support annual sales and readiness cycles as SME partner for Sales, Account Management, Product, Operations, and controls.
• Ensure alignment between approved benefit designs, client needs, and contractual commitments.
• Lead or contribute to embedding AI solutions to modernize processes and scale the business.
