Job summary

CenterWell is seeking a Director of Data Science (AI/ML) to lead a technical team in developing and validating AI/ML models for healthcare and enterprise applications. You will work with Product, IT, and Clinical teams to translate priorities into deployable solutions and to ensure operational viability of models.

The role requires 8+ years in data science, 5+ years in management, and strong experience in MLOps. Flexible work arrangements and travel as needed are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data science experience with production ML models.
• 5+ years in management and cross-functional leadership.
• Experience partnering with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with MLOps including model versioning, experiment tracking and production monitoring.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and validation of AI/ML models for business segment and company-wide applications (predictive modeling, NLP, agentic AI).
• Maintain deep technical expertise in AI approaches and healthcare context; apply rigorous judgment for method selection.
• Promote experimentation and rapid prototyping to validate feasibility and performance before full development.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the data science team and scalable model development.
• Collaborate with Product Management, IT, and Clinical/Operations teams to ensure end-user needs are addressed.
• Develop a high-performing team, build reusable frameworks, and ensure scalable model deployment.
