Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation is seeking a Senior Director to lead the Data Science Engineering team responsible for deploying AI/ML solutions at scale. You will partner with data scientists, product managers and IT to operationalize models and ensure reliability across environments.

The role requires building and maturing MLOps practices, deploying generative AI, and guiding cross-functional teams in a hybrid work model with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of work experience in computer science, engineering, or related field with leadership experience.
• Experience leading ML engineering teams and delivering AI/ML solutions at scale.
• Strong background in MLOps, CI/CD, and model deployment.
• Proficiency in a high-level language such as Python and familiarity with generative AI.
• Healthcare knowledge and stakeholder collaboration experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans for the Data Science Engineering function aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead ML engineers to design, build, and operationalize AI/ML solutions with stakeholders.
• Advance MLOps practices including CI/CD, model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Architect secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for model training and inference.
• Promote code quality, testing, observability, and responsible AI practices.
• Coordinate with IT, platform and data teams to integrate AI/ML into enterprise systems.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Foster collaboration with team members and management; manage budget and resources.
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate personnel to run the Data Science Engineering function.
