Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Director of BESS Augmentation to drive strategic and operational leadership for battery energy storage system augmentation programs nationwide.

The role directs Superintendents, partners with project managers, and ensures safe, timely, and profitable delivery of expansion, replacement, and integration efforts for SOLV and client projects. The position is fully remote, requiring travel ~30% to support projects, sites, clients, and team development.

Qualifications

• This role requires leadership experience in utility-scale BESS projects and deep knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and commissioning.
• Proven ability to manage multiple BESS augmentation projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong commercial judgment and client-facing delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for BESS augmentation programs and technical teams.
• Set portfolio priorities, staffing, governance, and augmentation strategies.
• Direct safe field execution, outages, procurement, and scheduling across projects.
• Partner with project managers on budgets, contracts, schedules, and risk management.
• Review risk, safety, quality, schedule, and margin; drive corrective actions.
• Develop leaders through coaching, training, and succession planning.
• Coordinate with OEMs, utilities, contractors, and clients to align execution.
• Standardize controls, reporting, installation, and commissioning practices.
• Lead safety planning, electrical work procedures, and compliance.
• Support estimating, scope development, and vendor quotations for equipment.
