Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Automation and Control Systems in the United States to lead the Automation & Controls group, guiding capital planning and cross-location projects while partnering with engineering and IT to optimize manufacturing processes.

You will drive safety, implement documentation standards, and mentor a team across facilities, leveraging 10+ years in manufacturing and a Bachelor’s in Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite, and advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to the manufacturing facilities 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate the Automation and Controls team into GAF.
• Manage all financial responsibilities of the Automation and Controls team: capitalized projects, budgeting and reporting.
• Guide engineering practices and documentation for controls systems; ensure project deployment and up-to-date records.
• Promote safety excellence and ongoing education to keep team current with new technologies.
