Job summary

Textron is seeking a Simulation & Digital Twin Engineer to join our engineering team in Augusta, GA. You will build and maintain high-fidelity digital twins, integrate ROS2, and drive validation of autonomy modules through simulation and synthetic data generation.

You will collaborate with software, systems, and vehicle dynamics teams to ensure traceable, repeatable validation across the product lifecycle. Travel is ~10% and remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C or similar, ROS2, Linux, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Own simulation software configuration management, source control, build automation, and release processes.
• Build a high-fidelity digital twin of the vehicle and environment.
• Develop and maintain validated vehicle dynamics models.
• Develop scalable scenario generation frameworks for autonomy verification and validation.
• Generate synthetic training and validation datasets for perception development.
• Define simulation coverage metrics and validate edge cases.
• Develop sensor models for camera, LiDAR, radar, GNSS, and IMU.
• Integrate ROS2 autonomy stack for closed-loop simulation.
