Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a senior Simulation & Digital Twin Engineer to design, develop, and integrate simulation capabilities for robotics platforms. You will lead architecture, mentor team members, and deliver real-time visualization solutions using NVIDIA Omniverse.

The role focuses on building high-fidelity simulations for construction machines, sensors, and environments, with an emphasis on integration, performance, and verification in a complex, multi-machine setting in Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in digital twins and simulations to support robotics.
• Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse and related tooling (Isaac Sim, Cosmo, WARP).
• Knowledge of other real-time simulation tools (CARLA, Unity, Unreal).
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python for simulation logic and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulation for construction machines, jobsites and sensors in NVIDIA Omniverse.
• Integrate simulation components with existing models, data systems, and digital twin frameworks.
• Create high-fidelity 3D models, scenes, and environments using Omniverse Kit; build pipelines.
• Collaborate to define a simulation Omniverse-based platform with current tools.
• Develop interfaces connecting simulations to real-time visualization and dashboards.
• Optimize performance for large-scale scenes and multi-machine workflows.
• Establish model validation and verification plans to ensure numerical stability.
