Job summary

Gulf Energy Information, a CompareNetworks division, is hiring a Digital Editor to manage and distribute digital content across websites, social media, sponsored content, and e-newsletters. Base salary ranges from 60k to 65k, with final compensation based on experience and fit.

Remote candidates nationwide are welcome in the USA, with Houston, TX area preferred. The role focuses on leading editorial strategy, optimizing content for reach, and developing SEO-friendly headlines while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• Basic understanding of the oil and gas value chain.
• Proven experience producing digital media content.
• Outstanding writing, editing, SEO and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with CMS software (Umbraco) and MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to analyze trends/analytics to boost web/social traffic.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital editorial strategy across multiple energy and infrastructure brands.
• Edit, publish, and optimize daily news articles, features, and newsletters for maximum reach.
• Develop SEO-rich headlines and metadata to enhance visibility and reader engagement.
• Coordinate cross-brand coverage, homepage priorities, and content pipelines.
• Analyze performance metrics (traffic, open rates, CTRs) to refine editorial decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and podcast teams on cross-platform initiatives.
• Mentor and support editors in best practices for digital publishing and analytics.
• Assist the editor-in-chief in editorial work, including working with contributors.
• Attending conferences, events and association meetings.
