Job summary

Gulf Energy Information, a CompareNetworks division, is seeking a Digital Editor to manage content across energy and infrastructure brands. The role focuses on website, social media, sponsored content, and e-newsletters, delivering engaging, SEO-friendly stories.

The anticipated base salary range is $60,000–$65,000 with final compensation based on experience and fit. Comprehensive benefits are offered, and location is remote with Houston area preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic understanding of the oil and gas value chain.
• Proven experience creating digital media content.
• Strong writing, editing, SEO and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with CMS (Umbraco) and MS Office.
• Ability to analyze trends to boost web traffic.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital editorial strategy across energy and infrastructure brands.
• Edit, publish, and optimize daily news articles, features and newsletters.
• Develop SEO-rich headlines and metadata for visibility and engagement.
• Coordinate cross-brand coverage, homepage priorities, and content pipelines.
• Analyze performance metrics (traffic, open rates, CTRs) to refine editorial decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and podcast teams on cross-platform initiatives.
• Mentor editors in best practices for digital publishing and analytics.
• Assist the editor-in-chief in editorial work, including contributors.
• Attend conferences, events and association meetings.
