Job summary

cFocus Software Incorporated seeks a Mid-Level Test Engineer to support a DHS program. This remote role requires DHS Public Trust clearance and heavy emphasis on automated and manual testing across web, cloud, and geospatial systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, CS, Geography, or related field.
5+ years of software/system testing and quality-engineering experience.
Experience creating comprehensive test plans, cases, data, and defect reports.
Testing web, enterprise, cloud, geospatial, data-intensive, or mission-support apps.
Proficient with test automation using C#, Python, JS/TS, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, pytest, NUnit, xUnit.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum.
Ability to validate APIs, REST services, databases, data pipelines, and cloud components.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical-writing, organization, and collaboration skills.
Ability to satisfy DHS suitability, background-investigation, and security requirements.
Experience testing ESRI Portal/ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, dashboards, and geospatial services.
Experience testing .NET/C# apps, Python automation, AWS-hosted systems, REST APIs.
Knowledge of Section 508/WCAG accessibility testing and security testing.
Experience with performance/load tools and test-management platforms.
ISTQB, CSTE, Agile testing, accessibility, cloud, security, or ESRI certifications.

Responsibilities

Develop risk-based test strategies, plans, schedules, and test cases for GCIS capabilities.
Derive test criteria from requirements and KPIs; ensure acceptance criteria are measurable.
Maintain traceability among requirements, Jira stories, tests, defects, and releases.
Identify test dependencies, environments, data, tools, risks, and stakeholder participation.
Review requirements/designs for clarity and testability; document gaps and corrections.
Develop and maintain manual and automated test cases for geospatial apps and data services.
Create reusable automated regression tests to improve coverage and speed.
Support .NET/C#, ESRI APIs/SDKs, ArcGIS, Python, and AWS testing with appropriate tools.
Create representative test data for diverse scenarios; ensure data quality.
Maintain automation code and test assets in GitLab or DHS-approved repos.
Conduct developmental and operational testing across contexts; ensure data protection.
Verify geospatial functions: map rendering, layers, dashboards, geodatabases.
Validate integrations with enterprise systems and cloud components.
Execute tests in development, staging, preproduction, and production-support contexts.
Capture complete evidence: results, logs, screenshots, timestamps, configs.
Coordinate with ISSO and security teams to validate patches and releases.
Perform Section 508 accessibility testing and document findings and retest results.
Validate IPv6/IPv4 behavior per SOW requirements.
Ensure testing complies with DHS test/evaluation and safeguarding requirements.
