Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an IA Engineer (DSO) to lead a data-focused team in delivering ingestion and governance for Veteran services. The role will be fully remote within the United States, focusing on DevOps policy publication, security, and infrastructure automation.

You will collaborate with Security, Operations, and Data Engineering to enhance performance and governance across cloud platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CI/CD, IaC, data governance, and cloud services (AWS,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Publish, train, and maintain DevOps and Infrastructure policies.
Implement predefined security and standards processes/tools/configurations.
Implement Data Governance aligned with Strategic guidance.
Lead Infrastructure as Code Initiatives.
Support DSO activities and lead DSO activities with lower priority for delivery.
Strategize on publication Monitoring Guidance and Monitoring/Alerting.
Facilitate the Implementation and management of monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues.
Oversee Configuration and maintenance of alerting mechanisms for critical events.
Participate in Implementation and maintenance of performance monitoring tools.
Collaborate with infra teams to optimize performance and resource utilization.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance production support.
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Identify and implement fully automated deployment workflows for data pipelines, APIs, and container workloads.
Ensure production environment complies with regulatory requirements and security standards.
Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and implement best practices.
Automate compliance checks, configuration audits and vulnerability reporting.
