Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an IA Engineer (DSO) to lead a team of data professionals supporting Veterans Affairs. The role focuses on publishing and enforcing DevOps and infrastructure policies, implementing security standards, and driving data governance across cloud platforms within a US-wide remote setup.

The ideal candidate will oversee IaC initiatives, automate deployment workflows for data pipelines, APIs, and container workloads, and collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, systems, business or related technical discipline; 12 years of experience (or commensurate)
• 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
• Experience with CI/CD processes
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Spark, GitHub

Responsibilities

• Publish, train, and maintain DevOps and Infrastructure policies
• Implement security standards/tools/configurations
• Lead Data Governance aligned with strategic guidance
• Lead Infrastructure as Code initiatives
• Support and lead DSO activities with prioritization for delivery
• Develop monitoring publication guidance and alerting (with Ops mgmt)
• Implement and manage monitoring solutions to detect issues before production
• Oversee alerting configurations and performance monitoring
• Collaborate with infra teams to optimize performance and resource use
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve production support
