Job summary

Mind Computing is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a full-time, 100% remote role to support a VA project by designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable AWS infrastructure. The position emphasizes IaC, automation, and CI/CD, with containerization and cloud security as core pillars.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable, efficient deployments while adhering to government compliance requirements and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years as a DevOps Engineer with AWS-focused experience.
• Hands-on with AWS compute/storage/networking/security services.
• Production experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Automation scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Understanding of AWS security, networking, and shared responsibility.
• Experience with subnetting, routing, load balancing, firewall rules, VPN.
• CI/CD principles and deployment automation experience.
• Strong collaboration within Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, EKS).
• Develop and maintain IaC and deployment workflows using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Implement cloud security practices including IAM, encryption, segmentation and logging.
• Monitor performance, availability, security, and cost; troubleshoot proactively.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other tools.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, and resilient architectures.
• Collaborate with development/ops teams to translate requirements into AWS solutions.
