Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks an Edifecs DevSecOps Engineer to drive cloud adoption and security across VA Enterprise Cloud environments. Remote role with US-based opportunities, requiring Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

The ideal candidate will lead CI/CD automation, IaC implementation, and AWS-native security practices, including IAM, WAF, and cost optimization, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering focused on AWS.
• Experience designing large-scale, highly available AWS architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or NodeJS for automation.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR/PCI DSS compliance in cloud.
• Experience with Edifecs and X12 EDI workflows preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead migration to the cloud.
• Create data and cloud architecture diagrams.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation.
• Manage cloud permissions for each app/storage/service.
• Implement monitoring for cloud architectures and apps for performance and compliance.
• Provide VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) environment support.
• Support AWS GovCloud environments ensuring VIP compliance.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling.
• Provide Cloud Security Provider Documentation.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions and address gaps.
