Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Application Engineer - DevOps & Engineering Tools to deploy and support enterprise COTS software across on-premise and cloud environments. You will advance DevSecOps practices, automate deployments, and harden security postures in both classified and unclassified contexts.

You will work with GitLab/Jira/Azure DevOps Server/Jenkins, Docker/Podman, and Kubernetes/OpenShift, contributing to modernizing legacy systems and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Requires university degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in related field depending on degree level.
• Experience deploying and supporting server-based hosted COTS applications and databases in an enterprise environment (GitLab, Jira, Azure DevOps Server, Jenkins).
• Strong Linux administration and containerization skills (Docker/Podman).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and related infrastructure.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Deploy, sustain, and support enterprise apps across on-premise and cloud using DevSecOps principles.
• Develop and maintain deployment automation, container orchestration scripts, and IaC templates.
• Harden and maintain cybersecurity posture of hosted solutions.
• Support build/test pipelines and collaborate with teams to optimize deployments.
• Resolve incidents and create internal knowledge base articles with L1 support.
• Plan migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms; present architectures and metrics to leadership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align deployments; implement monitoring to maximize uptime.
