Job summary

esVolta, LP is seeking a Development Engineer (Engineer I) to support utility-scale battery energy storage project development from early stages through NTP and EPC handoff.

The role involves preliminary engineering, site design, studies, interconnection support, permitting, techno‑economic analyses, and coordination with internal teams. Remote work within the continental US is possible; travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
• 2 years’ experience in power delivery, substation, renewable energy or energy storage.
• EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering activities during early to late development.
• Organize design basis documents and project technical specifications.
• Coordinate with Technical Director for vendor specs and documentation.
• Review proposals and ensure compliance with scopes and specs.
• Support equipment specifications for BESS, EMS, transformers, and HV breakers.
• Contribute to interconnection applications and permitting support.
